Short version: we measure visits to understand how people find us, we use Meta's and TikTok's ad tools to reach more men and supporters, and when you give, Stripe processes your payment. We don't sell, rent or trade your information, and we never hand donor details to advertisers.

What we collect

Visit statistics (Google Analytics). Which pages get opened, roughly where in the world you are (city level, from your IP address), your device and browser type, where you arrived from, and how long you stayed. It doesn't tell us who you are.

Ad measurement (Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel). Our pages include small pieces of code from Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram) and TikTok. When you visit, your browser sends them the page you're on, your IP address, device and browser details, and cookie identifiers. We also tell them when someone clicks a donate link and when someone reaches our thank-you page after giving. We do not send them your name, email, gift amount or payment details. If you're logged in to Facebook, Instagram or TikTok, those companies may link the visit to your account.

Donations. Gifts are processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never touch our website. Stripe shares with us what we need to process and acknowledge your gift: your name, email address, billing details, the amount and whether it's one-time or monthly.

Emails you send us. If you write to info@moamfoundation.com, we keep the message so we can reply.

Why we collect it

To understand which parts of the site help people and which don't.
To see whether our posts and ads actually bring people to the Foundation, and to show our content to people who have already visited.
To process gifts, send receipts and tax acknowledgments, and say thank you.

What we don't do:

We don't sell, rent or trade your information. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to other charities.
We don't give donor names, emails or gift details to Meta, TikTok or anyone else for their marketing.
We don't send anything you write to us, or anything about your health, to an ad platform.
We don't show other companies' ads on this site.

One honest caveat: Meta and TikTok handle the data their pixels receive under their own privacy policies, and they can use it for their own purposes, such as improving their ad systems. That's how these tools work, so we'd rather say so plainly.

Cookies and how to opt out

Google Analytics, Meta and TikTok set cookies in your browser to tell a returning visit from a new one and to measure ads. You can:

Block third-party cookies or clear cookies in your browser settings, or use a content blocker.
Install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.
In Facebook or Instagram, go to Accounts Center and open Ad preferences to limit ads based on activity from other websites.
In TikTok, go to Settings and privacy, then Ads, to turn off ads based on activity from other sites.
Use the industry opt-out page at optout.aboutads.info.

The site and the donation pages work the same either way.

Your choices

Ask what we hold on you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to info@moamfoundation.com. We keep donation records for as long as the law requires for tax purposes.
Cancel a monthly gift any time by emailing us or using the link in your Stripe receipt.
Opt out of ad tracking using the steps above.

Children

This site is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
